Hiking Angels Landing, at Zion

iking Angel Landing is one of the most famous hikes in all of Zion National Park, this one is not for the squeamish or those easily affected by vertigo. This is one of the most stunning viewpoints.

Angels Landing hike starts at the Grotto starting point, the 6th stop for the Zion Canyon Shuttle main canyon in Zion.

Difficulty: Hard  Length: 2.6 miles / 4.2 km  Duration: 1-3 hours

The trail starts at the bridge over the river of Virginia. There are two sets of swithcbacks. After ther first swtchback, you are in a slot canyon. The 2 mile mark has signs pointing to the angles landing trail and sign of warning. The last 0.5 mile is the real chanllenge. The trail is very steap.

The last half-mile is across a narrow sandstone ridge. Anchored support chains are attached along some sections of the sheer fin. Sheer cliffs at high elevations while hiking on a narrow fin.

Angels Landing is lower in elevation than the rims, but you get an amazing 360-degree view that rivals any other viewpoint you will experience.
