Ferry from Sausalito to San Francisco and sunset
Ferry from Sausalito to San Francisco under the sunset
During my stay in San Francisco, I was staying at Sausalito which is a San Francisco Bay Area city in Marin County, California. I was lucky chance to stay in the wonderful hotel “Casa Madrona“. I was able to enjoy one of the most enchanting aspects of Sausalito. Sausalito is a seaside city with a rich maritime history.
To go to San Francisco, I take the Sausalito ferry , at the Sausalito Ferry Terminal. I just enjoy one of the best trips in the world.
The Society of American Travel Writers, an organization of professional travel journalists and photographers ranked the trip between Sausalito and San Francisco as second-best in the world, behind their ” the Star Ferry ride in the waters off Hong Kong.”
It is the end of the afternoon, I’ll go with the sunset.
“Crossing San Francisco Bay on a sunny afternoon, with Alcatraz Island and the Golden Gate Bridge to the right, the Berkeley Hills to the left, and that glorious San Francisco skyline looming ahead; all that’s missing is a bar of Ghirardelli chocolate and a warm loaf of sourdough bread,” wrote Eric Lindberg, a freelance travel writer and photographer.
Everyone on the boat deck to enjoy this beautiful landscape.
We sail next to Alcatraz Island, which is known as one of the most legendary prisons worldwide. the federal penitentiary Alcatraz works here 1934-1963 had the presence of detainees such as Al “Scarface” Capone and the “Birdman” Robert Stroud.
Alcatraz is now home to flowers and rare plants, marine life, and thousands of roosting and nesting seabirds.
