On more than 1.5 km, the Beach of Amiets is the ideal site for the practice of windsurfing or kayaking, stand up paddle and surf. At high tide on the right of the waterbody, hollow waves right and left in place as the peak. Along the beach, the current leads to to the right of the waterbody. Many shore break at high tide.

The “harmonious contrast” between extreme white sand and turquoise water in good weather is beautiful. Provide sunglasses.

The town of Cléder has two coastguard stations on its territory,the guard house of Lavillo and the house custody of Amiets .

On either side of the beach Amiets there are two guard houses, both placed so that one can see one another. Built to watch the coast and part of a system controlling, and protecting designed by Vauban in the XVII th century, the military vocation initially lookouts are then become “customs houses”.

Guard house of Amiets was built in 1742 by the captaincy of St Pol de Léon. It is a house for only 3 or 4 watchers. The guard house of Amiets watching passing boats. In case of suspicious movements, guard militia alerted the authorities by encoded signals (flag games, white with cannon, night lights). The situation of these customs houses, hidden behind rocks, allowed not to be seen offshore.

You can follow along the sea with the path of Great Excursion 34 or GR34 is also called the “path of Customs officers” (chemin des douaniers)  since it takes the route of the ancient paths that allowed customs officers to patrol the coast.
